Director of Teaching and Learning – ICT and Business Studies
Key Responsibilities:
- Teacher of ICT and Employability Skills across KS3, KS4 and KS5
- Responsible for all curricular teaching of ICT and Business Studies, including Quality of Teaching and Learning and Learner Outcomes
- Line management of a team of teachers including Appraisals against performance criteria and individual development planning
- Member of Curriculum Leadership Team
- Management of the capitation budget for ICT and Business Studies
- Oversee the monitoring, tracking and intervention of the performance of all students in ICT and Business studies
- Perform Self-Assessment of the ICT and Business Studies Faculty including data analysis and teaching observations
- Write and implement a Faculty Improvement Plan linked to the School Improvement Plan to improve teaching, learning, attainment and achievement in ICT and Business Studies
Key Achievements:
- Implemented suitable ICT qualifications for all KS4 students (mainly OCR Nationals Level 2) utilising the curriculum time allocated; leading to a massive increase in the number of students exiting with a Level 2 ICT qualification (94% in 2011).
- Developed the strategic implementation of APP to help secure assessments in KS3 which has led to a curriculum development action plan to increase Level 5+ attainment
- Introduced faculty wide tracking, monitoring and intervention systems at KS3 and KS4 to help analyse and prompt act upon individual student’s progress – KS3 system is externally based (Classroom Monitor), KS4 system has been developed in-house
